“ Recent Update: This is still the best fish and chip shop around their chicke burgers are also good and the deals are good with the economy being how it is at least you can rely on Mr Cod to give you large portions at a decent price. Original Review This place is hands down the best place for fish and chips in the area. Fish is always cooked fresh and the same with chips they even ask you how you want them. Battered Sausage and Saveloy are both also on point. ”

“ Decent fish and chip shop. The chips they serve here are excellent - always cooked just right. The masala cod is nice but the seasoning is a bit too salty. The fried chicken from here is good. A small cod, chips and mushy peas cost £8.74 which is very good value and the portion sizes were generous especially the large piece of fish. Just about the cheapest I have seen locally. One negative point is that they put the food in plastic bags - fish and chips should never be wrapped in plastic as the steam causes the food to go soggy. Please use paper bags instead. ”

“ I have used Mr Cod for years, ignoring closer fish and chip shops. The food is consistently good quality. The fish is always properly cooked, the chips likewise, the portion size is more than decent, and the service is efficient and polite. Regarding "atmosphere", it's a fish and chip shop not a Soho restaurant. The staff are friendly enough and polite and get on with the job. Less waiting around. I will continue to use Mr Cod. ”

“ Had the cod n chips it was absolutely lovely, polite and friendly . great portion size there's no way I could eat the large portion. The curry sauce definitely needs some work tastes ok just very watery . ”

“ Been here twice and really enjoyed the food on both occasions. It was very busy when I walked in but my food was made fresh in an acceptable amount of time. Prices are a little higher than Outer London prices but the food was nice and a good sized portion. They have a lot of family deals, and choice on the menu. On my second visit I went for a beef burger and chips and really enjoyed it. Will deffo be back for more. Check them out! ”

“ Mr Cod is a lovely place! Me and my friends come here for dinner often and the owner is always very nice and kind to us he’s the nicest man you’ll ever meet he has the sweetest soul and it’s always an added bonus to talk to him! The food is amazing here very good quality! If you’re coming here for the first time I’d recommend a chicken strip burger meal or a beef burger meal- we get them all the time and they’re always delicious. The food is also made very quickly and we never wait more than 10 minutes ”
